Compressed towel tablets, classic wet wipes and pre-moistened towel pods all promise a quick clean-up on the go, but they work in different ways. Here is how they compare, and when each one makes sense.
What are compressed towel tablets?
A compressed towel tablet is a small, dry disc of non-woven fabric. You drop it in water, it absorbs the liquid and unrolls into a full-size towel. Tablets are light and never dry out, but you need a separate source of clean water every time you use one.
How classic wet wipes work
Classic wet wipes come pre-moistened in a soft pack or canister. They are ready to use, but once the pack is opened the wipes at the top can start to dry out, and an open pack is hard to keep clean in a bag or car.
Pre-moistened towel pods: the best of both
A towel pod such as Wise Wipe combines both ideas. Each single-use pod holds a compressed towel and its liquid, sealed until you press it. Press the pod, wait a second, and it opens into a soft 18 × 22 cm towel that is already moist. Because every pod is sealed on its own, the last one in the box is as fresh as the first, and you never need to look for water.
Side-by-side comparison
- Needs water: compressed tablets do; wet wipes and towel pods do not.
- Dries out after opening: an open wet wipe pack can; tablets and individually sealed pods do not.
- Towel size: Wise Wipe pods open into a full 18 × 22 cm towel.
- Hygiene: sealed pods are opened one at a time, so the rest stay untouched.
- Branding: each pod has a label that can be printed with your logo.
When to use each one
Compressed tablets suit camping trips where you carry water anyway. Classic packs work at home, where they are used up quickly. Towel pods fit everywhere in between: in a purse, car, gym bag, lunch box or travel kit, and at restaurants, hotels and events where guests need one clean wipe at a time.
Choose your pod
Wise Wipe pods come in versions for hands and face, makeup removal, babies and kids, pets and sneakers, plus hydrating face masks. Businesses can order custom printed pods with their logo from one box of 50. See the full range in our wet wipes collection.
